My day was rather long today. I had my kindergarten class in the morning which lasted until noon. It was in Mine, and my next class at 3pm was also in Mine, so it seemed silly to drive the 45 minutes each way to go home (not to mention a waste of gas and money) so I went to Ofuku onsen instead (since it's only ten minutes from Mine). On the way there, I stopped at one of those small, roadside Udon shops. It was pretty interesting in a "never done this before" sort of way. I was entertained that they still listed the food on wooden boards up on the walls. I ordered kitsune soba (which is a slight change from my usual kitsune udon, but not much *L*) and got to work. About half way through, the ladies behind the counter noticed I was using chopsticks, and asked me in Japanese how many years I'd been in Japan. I answered "three months" and was left very amused by their reactions. 'Cause, you know, no one ever learns to use chopsticks outside of Japan *L*

The onsen itself was lovely. We'd been there before during golden week, but they had switched the sides around that week or something since the women's side this time was excellent with a large, hot sauna, some nice hot pools and a gorgeous little outside part with a continuous heavy shower (s'like a massage by water). They also had an electric massage/water/thingy which was a sort of chair underwater with two panels from which came an electric current. I thought it'd be okay when I stuck my arm in it, but when I actually sat down, it felt like my skin and the layer of flesh underneath was going to vibrate off my bones. Scary. I got stared at a bit, but more because I was the youngest person in the entire building (it was mostly old people)... and maybe my breasts *L* They did chat with me, especially when I started making faces trying to get into the freezing cold pool *L*

Classes afterwards went really well, despite a lingering lethargia. I wish I'd had an hour to take a nap or something like half the people at the onsen were doing since all that heat really does put you to sleep. Luckily, my last class, only one guy showed up and he loves to talk and I enjoy talking with him, so we just chatted for two hours.

I just watched the new Dr. Who ep 3, and I can't decide if I like it or not. The plot was over the top and uselessly complex. I also couldn't help but think that Remembrance of the Daleks (7th Doctor) was a better use of the subverted school trope. I loved seeing Sarah Jane again, which is kinda funny since I've yet to actually watch a 3rd doctor episode. I loved how she'd grown up and developed, and I loved how they addressed that ever so important question of those who are left behind. But I also thought that the topic was treated almost... lightly. Because the Doctor doesn't just leave his companions places for one single reason. I'd also really like to know why all scary monster vision looks exactly the same and is it wrong that I miss the guys in ill-fitting monster garb? Not that it looked any more real than the CGI but it was more fun to mock *pout*

And who'd have thought I'd get nostalgic over K-9?

Mickey's scene with the pulling out the plug from the wall was hilarious in a nicely subdued way. And I have to agree with my friends list that Rose is getting more annoying each episode. Her's and the Doctor's smugness is just becoming unbearable. And while I can at least say the Doctor has some cause, I want to sort of smack Rose since she doesn't. Considering all the companions the Doctor has had over the years, she isn't that special, but I can't figure out if the writer's know that.

The writers on who are unfortunately writing for todays market. I hear 10&Rose are heading for a fall though. (I haven't asked what kind, I'm allergic to spoilers, but it makes it more bearable)
