We drove part of the Oregon Trail today. None of us died of dysentery.

Dad and I slept late until 8:30, since we were understandably exhausted from our bad hotel the night before and the fun of visiting Promontory. We had a very good breakfast, and hung out in the room for awhile before hitting the road. We drove through southern Idaho, the NE corner of Oregon and into Washington state where we stopped for the night. It's been a pretty mundane day, but as a bonus, our hotel fed us a free dinner tonight, and we'll probably watch something on my laptop. I'm going to use the sauna and hot tub, so I went out to grab my flipflops and encountered a guy from Alberta, Canada in full cowboy regalia, roping a fake steer in the parking lot. He said he did it rather than watch tv. I was amused. My Dad also says I must report the huge trucks full of onions we passed on the road with onions littering the sides of the roads after they passed. They were better than all the cattle cars or the hay trucks that made me sneeze.

Reading wise, I've finished all the extant Sookie Stackhouse books. They're good reading on long trips. I've been in the middle of The Jupiter Myth by Lindsey Davis for awhile, but it's not all that fast paced so I've also been rereading American Gods for the upteenth time. It was so much fun to recognize every single thing described in the House on the Rock part.
