Submitted two stories to magazines so far. One more to go.
Bujinkan tonight was more basics, this time was the final kata, ku no kata. We were advised to do everything we did before with the first four katas and went from there. Very boring, and others agree with me, plus it's very hard to train slowly when you're doing kicks, but we did our best. Only interesting thing was being told we need to cultivate the ability to let ourselves be unreadable, but focused in a fight. Last half hour we did switch to weapons - we pretended our bokken/hung bo were rifles and what to do if someone tries to grab your rifle off of you. Crowd control basics for someone with a gun, I suppose. Would have been more fun without the "Slower! Is that slow?" shouts from Jack *L*
Watched Ice Age II and Night at the Museum last night, both of which were entertaining in a basic sort of way. Have been watching Arrested Development with my Dad which is one of the few shows that makes me feel better about my own family. I started to watch the Sarah Conner Chronicles but after seeing two episodes, I'm not really sure if I want to continue. I don't care about any of the characters, the kid's going to keep doing stupid things, there are a million plot holes, there isn't enough humour to make it worth watching for that reason, and the Terminator apocalypse is both absurd and depressing. I've also struck out with Pushing Daisies which I really wanted to like since I like the actor and I like its' style and cinematography. (My opinion on the narration wavers between amusing and annoying.) But, whatshername, Chuck?, is a total mary sue who is very rude, and all the rudeness rubs me the wrong way. Also, it's far too cutesy with the romance - so much so that I was already gagging from the sugaryness in the second ep. Also, for a show about a guy who can bring people back from the dead, it's not very morbid *pouts*
