Met up with my mum today and drove her and my bro to the Mitsuwa shopping centre. Lots of fun and slight begging on my part to recieve certain things. The haul includes a pair of tabi (those are toe socks should anyone care...) that actually fit me for Bujinkan, some gorgeous porcelain cups and bowls that aren't actually mine, but I talked mum into buying them so that counts, inu yasha vol. 27, Kenshin vol... well, it's the end of the tomoe story whichever number it is, and, er, saiyuki 2 & 3 and Saiyuki Gaiden (pretty pictures *drool*). My poor bro had the job of pulling me away from all the pretty manga and art books (they had all the Saiyuki ones *whimper*). He seemed rather frustrated:) but he was rewarded with some manga of his own (in English) so all is well. Also bought myself another ukioyo-e print, but it was tiny and didn't cost much. There weren't any good pencil boards or posters this time so nothing new on that count.

Then we hit the food centre where I had some lovely eel sushi and sashimi for lunch along with my bro's pork bun (forever immortalized in my mind by Rumiko Takahashi) which he discarded and a fish shaped pastry filled with red bean paste. Bro had tuna sushi and mum had lots of random sashimi, some of which tasted very... intersting and had the added advantage of being completely unidentifiable. Twas a good meal though and was very full. Then we went to buy food. I stocked up on a few instant noodle packages (they taste funky which is a nice change to uni food sometimes), red bean rice cakes, red bean and plum ice cream, plum sake (to be consumed tonight and onwards. Sake tastes so nice when warm.) and pocky.

An additional paragraph must be devoted to pocky seeing as there was a profussion of new flavours available this time. In addition to the usual, chocolate, almond, strawberry and milk flavours, there were pizza, baked potato (no, I'm not making this up...), green tea and blueberry cheesecake! I have some strawberry, chocolate and cheesecake, sorry, blueberry cheesecake to try. I would like to thank the makers of pocky for giving me more entertainment than the time I discovered there was MENS pocky (which tastes exactly the same as regular pocky, it's only thicker and costs more...).

Now off to watch Dr. Who:) Ja ne!
