Did I ever mention that one of the coolest things about seeing Venice, besides the Doge's palace, was that they had two of Bosch's paintings (they focused on what is, in my opinion, his best topic - hell) on display which I was free to examine in all their gory and surrealistic detail? I can't find a copy of the paintings I saw online, but here's a link to a rather typical example of his painting and style. I mean, there's a fish wearing a saddle, and a duck with a man trapped inside. Can you see why I love him?
