Well, I am home, alive and well. Though flying on the first day of your period sucks arse. Watched Cold Mountain on the flight. Enjoyed it well enough since it fed my recent hankering for costume dramas. Am really beginning to find the tendency to kill characters after sex in movies and fiction rather disturbing though.
I sort of, accidently, wrote a Sharpe/Les Miserables crossover on the plane. Not very long, but it's all Victor Hugo's fault for going on and on about Waterloo. Anyone want to beta it for me?
Other things I got to watch was an episode of My Family (seems rather popular on British Airways atm), Simpsons, part of an ep of The Thin Blue Line, and a special on the development of Paris throughout the ages which clarified a few things in my mind, though I spent half the show wanting to point and go, "I've been there!", not to mention I have no idea how non-french speakers got anything useful out of the documentary since while the narration was in English, they didn't bother translating all the comments by all the various French specialists they were interviewing.
It's really humid and icky here atm, and hot too. I'm going to have to get used to NJ weather all over again. Not to mention my dig is coming up rather quickly and I must get ready for that as well.
