These past days have been very full, so I'll just beg forgiveness in advance from those who I was with if I forget anything.
siriaeve arrived on Friday and the, well, Hornblower actor watching proceeded apace. First Ioan Gruffud being very gay in that odd little Welsh movie which I had a clip of, then Robert Lindsey singing show tunes in My Family, then an extended dose of Jamie Bamber by watching the new Battlestar Galactica miniseries and first 8 episodes, plus Ghost Rig (in which, as siria has already pointed out, Bamber's tight, red t-shirt should get top billing). That movie has to be one of the top ten worst movies I've watched in all time. We kept ourselves busy for awhile horribly mocking it, guessing the evil character within the first five minutes, proposing alternate endings (the Scooby Doo one is always a hit) and generally trying to decipher the plot/casting decisions/plot/directing/crap dialogue, but in the end, it was a matter of reading other things and looking up for any scenes with Jamie. That t-shirt was lovely and who knew the demon was gay... Er, the worst bit was that we were hopeful Jamie would actually survive the movie, but he kicks it in the last bloody minute! *sigh*
Finally, I introduced Siria to The Daily Show, or more specifically, my favourite segment of theirs - This Week in God (which can be found in their splendidness on The Daily Show website for those who miss them) which entertained us until we met
ashfae and
randomchris for a carol service at the National Museum. Afterwards, was time for bagels and a visit to chocolate soup, thus beginning the celebration of chocolate that has lasted well into today (mmm, Irish chocolates...). Afterwards, we met up with
fyrie at the train station, did some shopping, then headed back to my flat to pick up things, before heading off to Falkirk for the evening.
The evening was spent having a lovely dinner, then followed by an excellent games of Wise and Otherwise and Once Upon A Time which was filled with much... oddness, but what else do you really expect from us? I really want my own copy of Once Upon a Time... or perhaps my own version with insane cards. The next day, I managed to read vol. 4 & 5 of Furuba and to finish up another source for my dissertation before heading back to Edinburgh, where I ended up finishing the last of my Christmas shopping before heading home.
I'm basically spending the rest of the week working on my essay and dissertation in order to get it all finished and tied up so will only be on briefly. Enjoy the new chapter of Uric. Ja ne!
