After that harrowing exam, it was a pleasure to go visit with
ashfae, and
randomchris, with the extra bonus of
fyrie's prescence. We had a lovely dinner, with copious amounts of sugar cookies and icing (and sprinkles!) for desert while watching miscellaneous episodes of Iron Chef. This was followed by good conversation that was continued well into the night by Fyre and I. I haven't had such an in depth SW's conversation in ages *L*
We had a very leisurely morning which was filled with nostalgia for me. I had a crumpet for breakfast, read Ella Enchanted in bed (not that I've read it before, but it was the sort of thing I did read in bed when I was eight) and had peanut butter and jelly for lunch. In the afternoon, Fyre, Ashfae and I went to see Kingdom of Heaven about which I will just say a few things Thewlis' character was having far too much fun. Fight scenes are pretty. Bloom can sort of pull off a decent performance, but what I was really thinking was that he was barely holding his own against every other actor in the film. Ridley Scott is surely a member of the "if it ain't broke..." school of directing and finally - Saladin! *ahem* I'll go back to my little squeeing corner of muslim history fangirlness.
Ashfae mysteriously ended up following me home. I think it was because I promised her chinese takeaway;) In the process, I may have, sort of, addicted her to Doctor Who - or at least Doctor Who in the form of Tom Baker. Cause, really, there is no way any Uric the Oddball fan can resist the 4th Doctor *eg* And if I got to watch Dr. Who in the bargain? Well, what's wrong with that? Have also fueled her budding BSG obsession. I'm mean, aren't I?;)
