Saw Terminator 3 with my dad and bro today. I liked it. The key to enjoying it was not to think while watching the movie.

Really must unpack...

Sleeping over [livejournal.com profile] rinzei's house tomorrow. Expect much anime rambling later.

Yes, T3 is a wonderful movie if you ignore the glaring plot holes. I said last night that, now that it seems James Cameron has divorced himself from the project, I should write a script for T4 that addresses and resolves all the gaping sucking plot wounds and see if I can pitch it.

I just love robots. From Maria to Maxamillian to Optimus to the Iron Giant. Nothing gets between a girl and her robot. :D

Re:

I should be but I never really got into that. I probably would be if I didn't know war gaming dorks. :P A lot of my good friends are really into the games. And I haven't had much access to that brand of anime (unless you count Transformers). I understand I need to see Macross. Aside from having GORGEOUS robots (mech suits?), the pittance of Gundam I've seen didn't do much for me.

Re:

Macross Zero is one of the most gorgeous animes I've ever seen (though I'm not much of a fan of the original). I only watch gundam for the bishonnen and Epyon in Gundam Wing (my favourite mech suit ever)... Escaflowne has nice mech. as does Full Metal Panic.

Have you seen Furi Kuri? It's right up your alley if you haven't. Robots, a deep strange plot, odd characters etc.

Never even heard of Furi Kuri. Hm. Will look into it.

T3 - pleasantly surprised

Yeah, I saw T3 today and was really surprised that it didn't suck. Actually I thought the humour in it worked very well, the new evil!Terminator was quite disturbing and the 'people in peril' could actually act (although what was up with the whole 'let's stand and watch the killing machine come towards us'?)

But they have so obviously set it up for T4 ... Of course, Arnie will be a pensioner by the time it comes out - a Terminator with a zimmer frame ... now there's a thought:

"I'll be back ... when I get my colostomy bag and commode sorted out ..."

*L* I think it helps not to have seen the original movies for a few years. That way I couldn't compare. I'm a sucker for apocalyptic endings too (too much scifi when I was younger I suspect) and they did well with the humour.
