You know, sometimes you find good fic only when you stop looking for it. This keeps happening to me in the Yu Yu Hakusho fandom. Go figure.

I'm finally getting the hang of that new type of punch in Bujinkan. Sensei watched me do it, left-handed (anything left-handed takes me twice as long to master since I'm right-handed) and only made a joke. No correction=doing it right. Yay! *L* Another week or two of practice and I might be able to do it naturally. I've been trying to think of another punch like it, and I swear I've seen it used in physical comedy somewhere, perhaps by Jackie Chan or the Three Stooges... It's basically a natural punch. You don't draw back or use the muscles in your arm all that much. You just let it swing up and - oops, is that my fist in your face? *eg*

Today was more uregyaku because the ukes couldn't be arsed to suggest something else and Jack doesn't remember that we did it last week... Unfortunately, I ended up with the annoying guy who has... dull wrists (ie, he doesn't seem to feel anything you do to them). I've ranted about him before actually since he has, or rather had a bad attitude to go with them. Today though, I suspect he ended up training with someone in the past weeks who didn't take any of his shit because he was subdued and mostly just worried about the fact that his own moves weren't working. He actually listened to me once I walked him through things. That still didn't solve the problem of his wrists, but I ignored doing the uregyaku and spent my time playing around with angles and space to see if I could get him to fall without it. It was pretty interesting since he's very tall and fights back (heaven forbid he actually let you complete the technique we're training). I'll bet he's pretty good at limbo at least.

Also learnt how to clear a room (of enemies), marine style today. That's going to be useful /sarcasm. As for injuries, I'm sore and have many psuedo-bruises (it hurts to touch but there's nothing visible), but what his name I trained with didn't have very consistent aim so I rarely got hit in the same place twice.

In fic news, I finally completed Silver and Gold ch. 7 last night. It was the exact proper length (ie, 6 pages) and I even managed to end it at the cliffhanger spot I wanted to. I expect several shocked reviews and at least one death threat (How would it look if I demanded someone Sand Coffin me before I write another chapter?;)) Accidently introduced an opponent for the later part of the exam too. I think I resent my subconscious for being a better plotter than my conscious:P

I really hate how words always look wrong to me when I spell them. They look wrong whether I spell them correctly or not. Not all of them, but enough to leave me doubting myself when I don't have spellcheck handy. Meh.
