I was really surprised and kinda touched the other day to actually get presents from people who aren't related to me within a week of my birthday. It's not that I don't get presents, but it tends to be spread out over months since all my friends don't exaclty live in the same country, or i'm not in the same country (archaeological digs suck arse in that respect). Anyway, we had a cake since K. is celebrating her birthday as well, and I got ghibli swag (a puzzle and a really cute mug that Sauron-chan thinks is his new home but not for long since I'm about to put tea in it). Oh, and a really cute sun hat which has a huge brim to protect my lovely face from the horrid horrid sun. Gotta love Japan.

I had a pretty good day yesterday. My first class was with this lovely woman and we had such a good time chatting that we went out for a meal afterwards. Then I ran some errands, read comics, and had one more class before hanging out with the other teachers. It was sad to say goodbye to K.

Today, my schedule is surprisingly light (thank god for Obun) so I'm considering hitting up the local festival afterwards (which will happen right outside our school's door).

Have finished Ultimate Spider-man (or at least I'm up to date to the second annual) which is a shame, so am reading back issues of Amazing and Peter Parker. It's confusing how they keep switching between them and finishing things off in other books. Bastards. They overestimate this particular reader's need to even know.

Oh, and look Civil War Frontline 5 mentioned... the American Civil War. Gasp! I'd never suspect that subtle and well thought out connection.

Really wish I had more Twisted Toyfare Theatre to read. *pouts*
