I went to an onsen yesterday wtih M., and My.. It was at a spa centre only twenty minutes away and it had two floors with weird stuff like a ridiculously hot sauna and a view from the outside bath (rotenburo ろてんぶろ) over the river (and incidently, over into all the ryokan rooms...o_o). The funniest thing was the chinese herbal bath which smelled like soup and was green. M. ended up smelling like soup for the rest of the night which was entertaining *eg* We then headed over to the Kirara (キララ)sports centre (I call it the big white turtle building myself) which we walked around in the dark, and then hit up the souvenier shop restaurant which was a damn cool place that specialized in naan sandwiches and specialized ramen, so I had a teriyaki chicken naan sandwich and Vietnamese ramen (very good soup and nice and spicy though not too hot). The cook was very insistent that he also make a vegetable naan sandwich for M. despite her attempt to get away with her usual bowl of rice. Oh, and I learnt how to say "take a piss" in Japanese which will always be useful when I join the yakuza or something *L*

I've read all of Invincible out so far and while I can't quite get over how simplistic and clean the art is, it's a great series and I love reading it on the surface and in depth with all the parodies I recognize. It's got a lovely plot and good characters though I think Mark could use more personality.

The art for the new Death Note anime looks like the same art from X/1999. This works very well visually except Lighto looks too young.

I start my new university class(es) that I'm teaching tomorrow. No text, so I kinda have to wing introduction games and stuff for an hour and a half with no idea of their level. Oddly enough, I'm not that nervous... yet.

I am in love with the I Spy books atm and I desperately wish my work had more than one of them. It's such a great way to teach kids some new vocabulary and they adore finding things. I'm going to be sad when I use up the one book I have.

Star Wars Tales comics are excellent. They're like illustrated fanfic and most of them are gen. Where else can you see stormtroopers reading an emo Vader's diary or Vader vs. Darth Maul? Not to mention an actual Indiana Jones/SW's crossover (even if it is depressing). And "Incident at Horn Station" is just brilliant in its simplicity! <3s!

On the other hand, I really wish I had access to my old Star Wars novels. It'd get me over this renewed Star Wars obsession much quicker (I go through phases of this considering Star Wars was my first fandom long ago (if'n you don't count ST that is)). I miss the X-wing series.

I keep almost getting colds atm. Methinks my body is sort of fighting them off but also is confused cause the wee beasties are a mite different than the ones my white blood cells are used to.
