The days are passing, and slowly it is getting cooler, by only a few degrees each day... and we won't even mention the day it was 48 degrees centigrade (which is somewhere over 120 degrees farenheit if I'm calculating correctly). Humidity is a bitch too and with the temperature falling the bugs are biting... me and only me. I hate having tasty blood. Mosquitos are much more annoying than vampires.
Food here is fantastic at least. On tuesday we had salmon for lunch and rabbit for dinner! And that's a pretty normal day around here, not to mention they provide all the food even on the weekends when we're off (and believe me I'm counting the days until then). Far too much cheese even for my taste but interesting and tasty nonetheless. Refuse to watch my weight since it's too hot and need energy to dig.
My french is still pathetic but accurate to some extent and gets the job done. Was hit on by hilarious guy who helped dig one day with an Elvis fetish. He was more interested in me because I was americain than anything else. Strange guys, nice sideburns *snicker* I found the manga section of the bookshop today too... now must talk myself out of buying something in french since I can read it so much better than I speak or understand it spoken.
Anal bastard is still annoying but not around as much and the french director who we work under now is much more laid back even if I hate the fact that he won't let us sit down as we dig. We had watermelon at the site yesterday even. Dig progressing well enough despite heat. J. and I have our own fait (some type of building) to excavate and spend most of our time talking and making up stories while removing layers of dirt and finding lots of animal bones and pottery though our finds are pretty poor compared to some of the others. Oh well. We now must get up at six to dig instead of six thirty to avoid the heat which I hate since if I don't get enough sleep I get grumpy which isn't really fair to J.
I think I'm going to go straight to Marseille after the dig and just spend a few days relaxing there. I can't be bothered to tramsp about france after all this work and travelling to some of the sites I want to see without a car is impossible.
To anyone who has friended me, haven't even looked through my lists for awhile so it may be some time before I even get around to things like friending back or even saying hi.
I'm reading The Princess Bride here to cheer myself up. Absolutely adore it, especially the way the author gets around some common writing problems... Will finish soon unfortunately. Cannot start second book until week three so must write instead until then.
ps.
havenward write me, please:)

And I know what you mean about the pictures. I don't think I've got half as many as you (have raided the computer for some. ^^), though I admitedly don't have anime stuff I can cut up. Am trying out a couple of sketches to put in it. (Oddly enough, the sketch of you looks better than the one of me... I think its because I tried harder.) Will try to put chibis of us on back. Not sure if it'll work though. ^^*
