I dreamt of lightening war last night. I was following Uric around the corridors of Hogwarts and he was babbling on about all the different players. Then the scene switched to a tropical island, but all the characters were still there and we were trying to subdue this huge beast that lived within the depths of the lagoon and we were also fighting against some other, larger group (this is a common theme in my dreams...) I have no idea who I was, but I was someone since people kept talking to me. I can remember Tom suggesting the idea that we drain the lagoon to trap the creature. And we suceeded...and there was a sort of party/end scene afterwards and I was chatting with Moody who had gotten a tatoo since that's what all pirates do (inspired I suspect by all the talk of Tom Baker, ie Captain Redbeard from Blackadder, being Moody). And then I wondered if Sirius should get a tatoo and thus woke up...

So I just applied for an excavation at Vindolanda, working on Hadrian's wall. If I get accepted for the time I want, I'll be able to do a week of my excavation requirement (6 weeks total each year) during the Easter holidays. I'm hoping to be accepted, especially since the excavations sound interesting. I've never worked on a Roman site before. (My old Latin teacher (who technically never taught me Latin except to translate the Hogwart's motto every time she saw it on my jumper, will be rather thrilled I expect...I really should email her. *whines* sylk what's her email?)

I was offered a place if I wanted to return to Cyprus this year, but I really can't afford the 600 pound payment fee again, nor the price of the flight and extras this year, not to mention after five weeks of excavation there (and no matter how much I loved the site) I was about to throw things against a wall to get out of there. I'd prefer to do something different this year as well, since Cypriote history is not really an interest of mine.
