Am still sick. Thought I was getting better a few days ago but now it is worse. My head feels like it's stuffed with cotton.

Watched the BAFTAS. More interesting and quicker than the Oscars. Also funnier. Meryl Streep's acceptance speech on behalf of Adaptation's adaptation was hilarious. Have also realized I have a crush on Sean Bean. Should really stop reading so much Boromir fic. It's strange, but whenever LOTR's wins an award this whole fellowship (bad pun, I know...) of guys always makes their way onto the stage to accept the award. It's rather amusing.

Have you seen Adaptation? As funny as the movie was, I can only imagine what the acceptance speech was like. I really hate Meryl Streep, but I saw two movies in two days (the Hours and Adaptation) in which I really liked her!

Re:

I haven't seen the movie, the but the screenwriter of Adaptation wasn't there, so he sent a speech for Meryl to read outloud. In it, he kept writing things like "I especially thank the exceedingly talented and beautiful Meryl Streep for reading this" and generally kept praising her while she grew all flustered and made her say other amusing things before the end. I'm going to have to see both Adaptation and the Hours at some point.

Adaptation - you may not get it. If you do, it will be the funniest thing you've ever seen. If you don't, it will be the stupidest. If you see it and have questions, I will be happy to oblige. In fact, the book they skewer ("Story") is one we're using in my class. ;)

The Hours - lots and lots of women kissing. Can't really give an objective review. The scene with Clarissa (Meryl Streep) and Jeff Daniels' character made me cry, and the bit with V.W. drowning at the start made me shake. Literally. I love Virginia Woolfe, and that was an intense way to start that movie.
