Have named my new laptop, Ieyasu btw:) Yes, I know I'm a Japanese historical geek...

So I have to ask - who was Ieyasu? What did he/she do?

Way cooler name than the one I chose for my laptop - El Diablo. But then, mine was named for appropriate reasons ...

Re:

Tokugawa Ieyasu (Ieyasu being his first name) was the great leader and founder of the Tokugawa era of Japan which lasted about 300 years (ending in the late 1800s) and was a great achievement since Japan had gone through 400 years of war before he came along, though in reality he built it up on the work of the war lord, Oda Nobunaga and his lietenant Hideyoshi, but they died and he lived on, so he gets all the credit:)

No worries. I didn't expect anyone to know. I have the advantage of having been through an East Asian Civilization course, not to mention I research this stuff on my own for fun:)

O.o Ieyasu!

Now that I have shown my smartiness by knowing about him, I will spoil it all by saying that I especially remember thinking that he sounded like a major hottie (woe!) =P

*L* Well, my laptop is tres sexy... I agree with you, though Oda Nobunaga does sound more my type;) Perhaps that'll be the next laptop's name...

Hmm. Someday I should write a historical novel about that time period...

No, not really:) I was stealing my brother's computer and he had it open since he was playing it at the time. In fact, I can hear it through the walls atm...

My knowledge of NWN comes from two sources 1) my bro's babbling and 2) megatokyo. That's about it, I'm afraid.

/me slaps on gaming geek cap

Well, Bioware's games are extremely time-consuming, so I can't completely recommend starting one. They're also addictive.

Baldur's Gate was more satisfying from the storyline perspective, but NWN is also pretty good (and visually is a major improvement).

If you ever have a lot of time, a computer, and some cash to spend on software, I'd without reservation recommend NWN, BG1, or BG2.

The good thing about NWN is that there is a big community, so there are lots of free campaigns and mods.
